ASTRAI is an AI assistant concept for spacecraft and mission knowledge, grounded in official NASA sources instead of unsupported model memory. The project explores a simple but important pattern: when an assistant answers technical questions, the source layer matters as much as the language model. Its focus was retrieval, source-aware responses, and making specialized information easier to access in a conversational interface.
